Empowering Access to Justice: Radium Development Supports the Mah Weng Kwai Foundation

At Radium Development Berhad, the belief in Building Good goes beyond bricks and mortar. It is also about supporting initiatives that strengthen communities, uplift individuals, and contribute to a fairer, more inclusive society. In line with this commitment, Radium is proud to support the Mah Weng Kwai & Associates (MWKA) Foundation.

Established to promote access to justice and legal education, the MWKA Foundation focuses on ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent deserving individuals from seeking legal redress or pursuing legal studies. Its work spans pro bono legal representation, public legal clinics and workshops, scholarships for aspiring legal professionals, and broader initiatives that uphold the rule of law and legal literacy.

Radium’s contribution will be pooled with support from other sponsors and channelled primarily towards the Foundation’s inaugural scholarship programme, a key focus during its first year of incorporation. This includes supporting at least one Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) student and one University of London Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student at Brickfields Asia College (BAC), as well as book prize awards for four University of Malaya (UM) law students in recognition of academic excellence.

What makes the MWKA Foundation’s scholarship programme especially meaningful is its long-term, sustainability-driven approach. Beyond financial need, recipients are selected based on their commitment to community engagement, public-interest work, and human rights advocacy – nurturing future legal professionals who are motivated to give back.

By supporting the MWKA Foundation, Radium is investing in capacity-building within the legal ecosystem and contributing to a future where access to justice is more inclusive and equitable. It is a reminder that meaningful progress often begins with empowering people, one opportunity at a time.
